Mrs. Ferreira - Third Grade

Welcome Letter

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my Third Grade class!!  I started my teaching journey by graduating from Fresno State in 2002; began teaching at Engvall Elementary from 2003-2008; Central from 2008-2021; Stratford 2021; and finally receiving my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2017.

I know that it is going to be an exciting year working on our reading, language arts, writing, math, science, and history skills. We have a lot of work ahead of us, however, with your support and patience, this will be an outstanding year for all of us.

All students in the third grade will be receiving homework on a regular basis that includes Math and Language Arts.  The homework usually consists of standards I have taught them during previous weeks.  This provides them opportunities to continue to master those skills along with allowing families to see what the students are learning.

Also, please take the time to have your child read to you once a day. It only takes 20 minutes a day to promote their reading skills. There will also be book reports and projects throughout the year and they are an important part of their grade. Please try to prompt your child to start their book reports early, so if there is a problem, we can work together to assure their success.

If you have any questions, concerns, or anything you think I should know, please feel free to email me at [email protected] or message through ParentSquare. Let’s make this a rewarding year!
